I visited the Charnwood Campus today to catch up with the progress of the old AZ site as a Life Sciences cluster opportunity. When AZ pulled out in 2010 it was a massive blow to the towns economy and the individuals concerned. It was one of the biggest issues of bad news that crossed my desk as an MP. I still recall where I was and the gut wrenching feeling when I was told by the AZ CEO of their Board decision.
Fast forward a decade and now through my volunteering still championing what the site has to offer for jobs and wealth creation in the local economy! Great to catch up with the team and see what more we can do to work together across the various agencies and local authorities.
