The need to stay Physically Active During Lockdown

I have been fortunate to have a few blogs and columns I write for the sports sector and whilst this has been a really tough time for everybody involved there is always an upside somewhere. This does not diminish the size of the problems we face but we need to be thinking about what we do differently when things start to go back to some kind of normal.

One highlight has been the public awareness of the need to be physically active. This does not mean people have been able to rush out and join a gym or sports club so people have had to be imaginative.

That’s why the latest Sport England campaign i so refreshing. It acknowledges where we are!

I am in the process of writing a lengthy blog about what next for Sport, Recreation, Gyms, movement and Dance etc. Each part of the sector has been hit hard in different ways and things may never be the same!

So what is your experience. What have you been doing. What have you done differently? Will you return to your old ways? I know I am seriously thinking of ending my gym membership but I am desperate to get back to #ToucgRugby . I will certainly be running more in the countryside on nice days.
I need your thoughts and observations… as it’s hard to connect and chat normally in these strange times!

The campaign to keep the nation active during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Join the Movement, continued today with the launch of a television advert.

Made entirely with self-shot videos from members of the public embodying our #StayInWorkOut motto, the ad has been backed by the likes of triathletes Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, Strictly Come Dancing's Karen Hauer, ex-England footballer Kelly Smith and former European 10,000m champion Jo Pavey.
