Achieving Levelling-Up: The Structures and Processes Needed

Achieving Levelling-Up: The Structures and Processes Needed

‘Levelling-up’ is one of this Government’s flagship ambitions. This report, Achieving Levelling-Up, focuses on the structures and processes needed to achieve it, finding that there is zero chance of achieving it without significant changes to the current system at a national and local level.

The report, conducted as part of the LIPSIT (Local Institutions, Productivity, Sustainability and Inclusivity Trade-offs) project by Demos and the Universities of Birmingham, Cardiff, Surrey and Warwick, identifies a number of problems with the current system for managing local economic policy, and suggests a new framework in which levelling-up should be possible.

An ambitious £32 million bid to transform Loughborough has been submitted to Government.

The Loughborough Town Deal is an exciting, once-in-a-generation opportunity to bring significant social and economic improvements for residents, communities and local businesses.

A Town Investment Plan outlining a range of projects has been drawn up that will seek to improve skills and boost job prospects, redefine the town centre to ensure it remains well-used and vibrant, improve the local environment and showcase the town’s heritage.

Saje Impact Celebrates 10 years of Business and Impact in the UK and Across the World

Saje Impact Celebrates 10 years of Business and Impact in the UK and Across the World

In June 2010 SajeImpact started on its first tentative steps as founders Andy and Sarah Reed cast a vision for the next season in their lives. After 20 years of front line politics the loss of the Loughborough seat meant Andy & Sarah had the rest of their lives to fill. Wanting to maintain their enthusiasm for creating positive impact on society around them the concept of the lifestyle agency approach was born and the name emerged. Saje Impact

We know the name has caused everybody difficulties in pronunciation! It is in fact pronounced ‘Sage” and Impact simultaneously. The meaning was more significant to me at the time than any potential marketing problems admits Andy.

Celebrating 9 years of Business Growth

Celebrating 9 years of Business Growth

It’s a year of celebration and change for Saje Impact as we head towards 2020.

After leaving parliament in 2010 Director Andy Reed set up Saje Impact to continue working in and around many of the campaigns he has championed in Westminster. In June 2010 the concept of saje Impact was born.

Today as the company celebrates its 9th birthday Andy said he was proud of the work it had done in that time to support work around social justice, poverty, wellbeing, sport and physical activity.

“As we head into our 10th year the work pattern may change a little as I change the emphasis of my work pattern - but the causes will remain the same and Saje Impact will be there to help, mentor, coach, strategise, challenge and help clients think differently.

“I’d like to thank everybody we have worked with over the last 9 years. “When work is a pleasure life is a joy”

Business & Industry Conference & Annual Mansion House Dinner

Business & Industry Conference & Annual Mansion House Dinner

A delegation of local businesses from Leicestershire was led to the Annual Business and Industry Dinner at The Mansion House by Andy Reed this year, in his capacity as Vice Chair of the LLEP Board.

Andy was accompanied by Nik Kotecha OBE from Morningside Pharmaceuticals and Chris Ruddock from Incus Performance based at the Advanced Technology and Innovation Centre in Loughborough.

The Mayor’s Annual Dinner is a key event in the business calendar but this year the Business Secretary and BEIS department brought together business leaders from across the country to talk about the governments #industrialstrategy as part of a longer day of events.

The theme for the conference day was to help  LEPs develop & deliver their own Local Industrial after the West Midlands launched theirs earlier in the day
