I was pleased to attend the opening of the new Women in Sport Research and Innovation Hub at Loughborough University today.

πŸ—¨οΈ It was good to hear a passionate speech from Sports Minister Steph Peacock and Karen Carney OBE OLY alongside Nick Jennings and Prof. Jo Maher about the role the Hub can play in furthering the course of Women's sport and physical activity.

πŸ“š The hub's mission to revolutionise the women's sport ecosystem through cutting-edge research and innovation is truly important. It is good to see the sports eco system at Loughborough continue to grow i such important areas of research.

🀲 From my policy experience it is vital that this hub reinforcers and creates areas of new work to compliment the work already happening across the sector by some other partnerships. By fully collaborating I know this can be mutually beneficial.

πŸ… It was also fantastic to catch up so many instrumental women in sports in the UK who are dedicated to creating lasting change throughout the women’s sport landscape and chat to those I missed at the hashtag#ThisGirlCan event last week!

Looking forward to seeing more of the impactful research and progress that will come from this hub!
