We are often asked; what do you do day to day? So, if you were ever wondering, here’s an insight into a typical week for our team….

September marks the start of a new academic year and a time when colleagues regroup and plan for the autumn term ahead. Last week saw us in meetings across the country, from London to Royal Leamington Spa and Loughborough.

Following a Sport and Recreation Alliance Board Meeting in the capital we met with the newly formed All-Party Parliamentary Swimming Group (APPG) of MPs and Lords for the first AGM. Andy has been integral to setting up this group which is the first of its kind and looks at access to swimming, the affordability of swimming, and swimming outdoors with the support of Swim England.

On Thursday we joined Sports Chaplaincy UK at the House of Commons to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Andy is a proud ambassador for Sports Chaplaincy UK, a charity involved in helping sporting organisations support, train and appoint sport chaplains. It wasn’t long before we went to our next function with the Law in Sport Annual Conference ‘Understand The Rules Of The Game’ hosted at the Royal Institution in the afternoon. The conference was a great networking opportunity with over 250 leading sports lawyers, sports executives, academic, students and athletes discussing the key issues and developments in international sports law.

The Saje Impact team were back on the road on Friday with a trip to Royal Leamington Spa for a monthly progress meeting with EduCare, an expert safeguarding and duty of care training provider. The purpose of the meeting was to review a sector-wide research project that Andy is leading and plan ahead for the duty of care themed round table event that EduCare is sponsoring with the Sports Think Tank.

Andy said:

I love what I do. No two days are the same! I’m involved in many different projects that are all having a positive impact on sport. It’s an important time of year for Saje Impact and we have a lot planned in the run up to Christmas including a series of round table events, delivery days for ICON Training and new partnerships to support.

I’m looking forward to the Foundation for Leadership in Sport Conference this Friday at Loughborough University London – I’m sure it’ll be another fantastic learning and networking opportunity.
