Andy Reed OBE was involved in the National Student Tennis Conference Weekend which took place at Loughborough University on Saturday 1st April.
The Tennis Foundation #tfconference gave students the opportunity to hear from a range of speakers regarding the career pathways available in the sports industry. Andy kick-started the conference with a keynote on behalf of Saje Impact, The Sports Think Tank and The Sport and Recreation Alliance.
Andy’s keynote ‘The Future of Sport’ set the scene by discussing the value of sport in England and the size of the sports economy. He spoke about the complexity of the sector and key challenges such as engaging underrepresented groups in deprived communities in physical activity which is the main policy focus of Sport England’s 2017-21 strategy. Andy also touched upon the growing popularity of sports technology and the need for understanding the millennial generation.
