Lately, I've been doing a lot of thinking – and learning – about what it really means to live a truly happy and fulfilling life. It feels like in our age of uncertainty, finding a clear purpose can feel harder than ever, and it's so easy to confuse our goals with our actual life purpose.
What I've come to realise, drawing from some a wide range of wisdom and ground-breaking studies (like the powerful Harvard research highlighting quality relationships as crucial for both mental and physical health and happiness), is that it's often the simpler, foundational things that make the biggest difference. For instance, knowing your core values can act as a compass to guide your decisions and actions. It's also about understanding that your well-being isn't just a reward for work, but a reason to retire early and invest in your tranquility. And, of course, genuinely nurturing those connections with family and friends, because love and relationships are what remain in the end.
I've also been diving deep into concepts like Ikigai – the Japanese concept for your 'reason for being'. This framework helps explore the sweet spot where what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for all intersect. Thinking about the 'Reverse Bucket List' technique – imagining what I'd regret not doing on my deathbed – has been a powerful way to prioritise what truly matters right now and to work backwards from that vision.
It's also become clear that true contentment comes from within, cultivating gratitude for what you already have and accepting life's imperfections, rather than constantly yearning for more. And embracing the reality that we only have roughly 4,000 weeks to live truly shifts your perspective from endless productivity to focusing on what brings genuine meaning and fulfilment.
I've collected these insights, and so much more, into something I've been creating. It's not a rigid solution, but a space for shared exploration and mutual help to apply these learnings. If any of this resonates with you, and you're curious about diving deeper into discovering your own purpose and building a more fulfilling life, I'd genuinely love for you to check out Sajeimpact.com.
It's a continuous journey of growth, and I believe we can all support each other in living more authentically and happily. I have been helping people informally for some time but now I am happy to share this offer with a wider range of friends and colleagues. Mates rates are available!
