Annie Zaidi BEM was a key speaker at the 3rd Annual Saverah Women’s Expo over the weekend in London.

The landmark event, established as the biggest lifestyle exhibition for Muslim Women in the UK and Europe, saw over 6000 visitors, and showcased the entrepreneurial spirit of Muslim women and the rise of modest fashion.

Held at the O2 Arena, the seminar was delivered by the business-networking forum BCBN in partnership with Muslim Women Connect (MWC), an initiative bringing together Muslim women from a broad range of careers and different walks of life.

Annie, who was recently named by The Independent as one of the 50 most influential women in sport, was in good company on the panel alongside speakers including Sabah Nazir, Founder and Creative Director of Islamic Moments and Shenaz Bunglawala, former head of research at Mend. Each panelist was introduced to the audience by the moderator Sabah Gilani, CEO of BCBN, and the panel discussion focused on what it means to be a Muslim woman and a leader in the 21st century. Annie spoke openly about her professional coaching journey and the barriers she has overcome, encouraging Muslim women to join the world of sport.
