Congratulations to Leicestershire Business Voice on their landmark 25th anniversary celebration dinner last night at Leicestershire County Cricket Club.
The organisation has come a long way over the years to be one of the go to voices for Business in the City and now County alongside the East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire) Institute of Directors (IoD) FSB Make UK and I am delighted they play a helpful role as part of Leicester and Leicestershire Business and Skills Partnership where they sit on the Board.
Thanks to Rob Nixon CBE QPM DL for the talk through his career and leadership lessons. I worked with most of the Chief Constables in the County before Rob took over and from what I heard I would have enjoyed working with him and his team when he was in office. I have total respect for policing as one of the toughest jobs out there at the moment.
As always great company with George Oliver and the Chamber table Scott Knowles! As always it's the networking that is important and sorry that an over running Planning Committee made me late!
As expected people were slightly more interested in my views of the political drama in Westminster than some of work at the Business Board, but given my passion still for Westminster I am always happy to share my insider knowledge!
